Iberian settlements in Requena

Iberians were settled in our district over 2500 years ago and we still keep many remains.

They had a very hierarchical society, led by a small group of people who organized the use of the land and controlled the commercial relationships from fortified cities. Day to day life took place in smaller houses where they cooked, ate and slept, but also worked as artisans and used them to cult ancestors and divinities.
